Information Dissemination Management

The DoD Global Information Grid (GIG) Capstone Requirements Document (CRD) defines Information Dissemination Management (IDM) services for information awareness, information access, information delivery, and support services, as shown in the diagram, below. Solers is the industry's leading provider of software products and services that are needed to meet the IDM requirements specified in the GIG CRD.

Solers information awareness capabilities include the development of DoD-tailored catalogs of information that enable users to search for, locate, and retrieve information of interest. These services are being transformed to provide Content Discovery in support of the GIG Core Enterprise Services (CES).

Our information access software includes smart pull capabilities integrated with Solers' assured delivery software to enable users to define profiles that describe their information requirements. The required information is then pulled to the user’s desktop. Access services also include support for commander's policy, which defines and enforces information access and resource policy over all information transfers.

Delivery services offered by Solers are provided through our enterprise messaging software. Our messaging capabilities plan and manage the flow of information between producers and consumers across heterogeneous communications systems. They also provide capabilities to forward cache information, storing it closer to users that need it. Solers’ delivery services capabilities are being transformed to provide CES messaging and storage services.

Finally, Solers' support services include integration with security services to support Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and other Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) capabilities, integration with Directory Services for storage of configuration and policy information, management services to support the maintenance of the catalog schema, and operations support/help desk services. Our IDM support services are being transformed to utilize CES Enterprise Service Management (ESM), IA/security, and mediation services, where applicable and available.
